Go2Space-HUBs, a reference in the generation of solid local ecosystems for entrepreneurs and start-ups
The European Go2Space-HUBs project has incubated and accelerated forty-three start-ups and contributed to the creation of five new ones, offering support to more than two hundred and fifty companies.
The space industry represents one of the sectors with the greatest potential and dynamism in the economy, due to the high degree of technology of its products and services.
At the same time, space companies contribute to the development of other sectors and to the improvement of the living conditions of citizens.
One of the major commitments of the European Union is to strengthen business culture as a growth engine for the economy at local, national and European level.
To achieve business growth and drive the creation of new emerging initiatives, strong local ecosystems are needed for adding value to start-ups and helping entrepreneurs transform their ideas into successful actions.
The European Go2Space-HUBs project, which has ended last November 30, aims to develop and grow European companies that offer technology and services to and from the space sector, ensuring the generation of value and innovation through three HUBs in Madrid (Spain), Coimbra (Portugal) and Tallinn (Estonia).
Main results
Since the beginning of the project two years ago, a wide range of local initiatives have been carried out for entrepreneurs, start-ups, scale-ups and SMEs, building bridges with the activities of the European Union, designed to ensure the creation of new start-ups and help those that already exist to grow.
Specifically, two incubation programs have been created in Coimbra and Tallinn and two acceleration programs in Madrid. Besides, three Innovation Days, three hackathons, three Demo Days, four B2B Brokerage Events, six coaching sessions and a final event have been held in which, after an extensive selection process, eleven of the companies incubated and accelerated in Go2Space-HUBs, had the opportunity to present their projects to specialized investors. For two days, all participants have been able to schedule One2One meetings, create new contacts, and much more.
Go2space-HUBs has incubated and accelerated forty-three start-ups, has contributed to the creation of five new ones, and has offered support to more than 250 companies, ensuring the creation of value and innovation through the transfer and application to other business sectors, the training and promotion of local networks that connect effectively with existing European Union initiatives.
Go2Space-HUBs continues to grow and increase its impact on the European business companies and cooperate with institutions, entities and industrial partners.
