Go2Space-HUBs will participate at Startup Olé 2020
Go2Space-HUBs will be at Startup Olé, the meeting point for international tech-entrepreneurial ecosystem. Our project coordinator UC3M Scientific Park and our partner Madrid Aerospace Cluster, will participate in the round table ‘Entrepreneurship & Space at Go2Space-HUBs: Calls for start-ups and mentors‘, next Wednesday September 9, 17:00 CEST.

At Startup Olé, thousands of attendees, start-ups, accelerators, corporates, investors, universities and public institutions will meet to develop synergies, secure financing opportunities and boost the digital transformation through a series of activities like matchmaking, roundtables, workshops and networking.
This year’s edition will gather more than 260 startups from 23 different countries and 350 key players.
Our project coordinator UC3M Scientific Park and our partner Madrid Aerospace Cluster, will participate in the round table ‘Entrepreneurship & Space at Go2Space-HUBs: Calls for start-ups and mentors‘, on September 9, 17:00-17:30h CEST. Emma Crespo from the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Service of the UC3M will conduct the table. Carlos Romero, Managing Director of Madrid Aerospace Cluster, and Gemma Villegas, from the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Service of the UC3M will participate in the table.
The Go2Space-HUBs project
The Go2Space-HUBs project is a european project targeted at entrepreneurs, start-ups and scale-ups that work in the Space Sector, in the following thematic areas:
- ‘Space-related projects for a digitalized Europe’ (e.g. big data, IoT, smart cities, smart transport)
- ‘Space-related projects and applications to solve the Sustainable Development Goals’ (e.g. low carbon future, social impact)
- ‘Space-related projects in Defence & Security’ (e.g. cyber, military, big data, fintech)
- ‘Spacetech Excellence’ (space upstream & downstream sector)
Twenty selected entrepreneurs or early stage start-ups will have the opportunity to join a one year incubation program aimed at growing their idea into a strong business in the space sector at HUB Coimbra & Tallinn. And other twenty established start-ups or scale-ups will be involved in an intensive three-month acceleration program of online training and individual mentoring at HUB Madrid.
Moreover, the participants will attend networking activities with experts from government, industry, research and investment sectors, and participate in events on the space sector, where they will present their solutions to potential investors and find strategic partners to grow their business globally.

This is a high impact program based in the HUB Madrid (Spain) at UC3M Science Park, where participants will receive, during three months, extensive online training and individualized mentoring in market and investment readiness, reinforcing technology base and reviewing operations management.
It will also include sessions for the knowledge, management and data processing of the Earth observation platform DIAS Environment, on European financing programs.
Go2Space-HUBs will also organize Hackathons and Demo Days, with 30.000€ in prizes, and the winners will take part to the final Investment & Partnering Event.

Go2Space-HUBs (Generating new sOlutions 2 and from Space through effective local start-up HUBs) is a European Project to secure the creation and up-scaling of European businesses, offering technology and services in and from the space sector, ensuring value creation and innovation through cross-fertilisation, training, and locally owned through the creation of three new Space Hubs in Coimbra (Portugal), Madrid (Spain) and Tallinn (Estonia), strengthening local entrepreneurship, business ecosystems and networks.
The project is financed by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 870370. It has a duration of two years, and an overall budget of 1.1M €.
The consortium includes six partners from five different European countries (Belgium, Estonia, Poland, Portugal and Spain) that represent key players in the local and regional start-up ecosystem: Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Madrid Aerospace Cluster, Technology Partners, Europe Unlimited, Tehnopol and Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN).
