Ana Seguro has a degree in Management from the University of Coimbra and Post Graduate in Accounting and Taxation from Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, currently acts as the Coordinator of the Management Team of IPN Incubator projects. During her professional activity participates in several European projects for cooperation and promotion of good practices in the support of start-ups. In the last years has actively participated in two Interreg IVC projects: ERMIS (Effective Reproducible Model of Innovation Systems) and Health4Growth. ERMIS had the objective of developing an effective and transmissible model of the Local Innovation Systems, dedicated to the increase of innovation inside de SME’s. H4G consortium pretends to improve the effectiveness of regional development policies regarding the operational environment of local and regional economic players within the health sector. At the present time, participates in ADSA – Atlantic Digital Startup Academy, an Atlantic Area Project which helps digital startups develop and launch their offer in international markets.
Also, between 2011 and 2016, was responsible for the subject of Business Administration of the Integrated Master in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra.
Graduated in 2004 in computer engineering by the University of Coimbra. It was during 6 (six) years analyst/programmer in Instituto Pedro Nunes, where he worked on requirements analysis and development of projects in the area of information systems and distributed systems. Since 2008 he assumed the position of project manager in the same unit of Instituto Pedro Nunes, with responsibility for the management of software projects, formation of new elements and research and development in the areas of information systems, ubiquitous systems and distributed systems. Over the years, he has participated in several projects, including, among other, Inovwine I and II, i9Kiwi, Tice. Healthy, Hotelcracy, SOCIAL, IOTEC and ReMAP.
I’m an innovation manager in projects and activities that promote entrepreneurship and the space economy at IPN-Instituto Pedro Nunes, the coordinator of ESA Space Solutions Portugal. I boost entrepreneurs and startups turning tech and knowledge into businesses, through mentoring, training and networking activities, and within dedicated projects and events. I have a special motivation regarding gender equality, promoting women in tech and women entrepreneurship. I have a degree in Sociology, a post-graduation in managing projects in partnership and I’m a certified trainer.
I’m innovation manager at Instituto Pedro Nunes and work in projects and activities that promote entrepreneurship and the space economy.
I have a degree in economics, a master in marketing and a postgraduate degree in digital marketing and analytics. I have experience in the retail industry and worked as project leader for some multinational corporations: Leroy Merlin, Media Markt, H&M and Decathlon.
Sports is a big passion and I’m a former basketball player.
Project Manager at IPN (Instituto Pedro Nunes, Coimbra, Portugal). IPN’s incubator was been awarded several times as one of the best incubators in the world, and has supported the creation of over 300 startups since 1996.
Being an entrepreneur in the IT sector gave me practical knowledge of the main struggles when addressing the scaleup stage, especially when addressing VC funding options. My academic training as an Economist can be helpful to entrepreneurs and C level managers in areas as MedTech, AI and Industry 4.0. Main expertise: Funding, Applied, R&D and technology transfer activities.
Jose Ricardo Aguilar
Graduated in Law and Post-Graduate in Bank, Insurance and Stock Market Law and Corporate Law.
I am Head of Legal at Instituto Pedro Nunes and part of IPN VCI – Knowledge Valorisation and Commercialization Unit, also with relevant intervention as trainee and lecturer, both in specific training programs, post-graduate studies and graduate studies. I specifically address Intellectual Property Law, tech transfer and legal tech issues with since 2002.
Since 2011, invited lecturer on the Biomedical Pharmacy Degree of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Coimbra University, co-responsible for the module “Regulatory Affairs and Patents”. From 2020, also invited lecturer responsible for the module “Intellectual Property, Innovation and Entrepreneurship” part of the Master Degree in Pharmacy of the same Faculty.
I deliver interventions in several events on technology transfer and IP matters organized by the most relevant global entities (AUTM, LES, ASTP, ERA, OECD, OMPI, WIPO and EPO).
I am member of the EPO – European Patent Office Standing Advisory Committee on Patent Information and Documentation, EUIPO – European Intellectual Property Office Observatory SME Expert Group and EARTO – European Association of Research and Technology Organizations “Legal Experts” Working Group. Since 2019, also Researcher at SPARC – Space Law Research Center at the Law Faculty of Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
I am a co-founder and managing-partner at THEIA. I have a degree in Archaeology and History from the University of Coimbra and currently doing a PhD on remote sensing and digital technologies. At THEIA I am responsible for doing 3D surveys with lidar and photogrammetry (aerial and on the ground). I am also responsible for managing the development of our monitoring platforms based on satellite data.

José Rodrigues is the Business Developer at IPN, since 2019. He has a Master in Business Management from Coimbra Business School, and attended the degree in Electrical Engineering and Computers in the University of Coimbra. He is responsible for developing the business area at IPN: prospection and monitor of new opportunities for projects and services of IPN’s R&DT laboratories; elaboration of strategic and communication plans, oriented to new customers and markets, and the definition of the respective monitoring strategies. José also focuses his work on the commercial valorisation of IPN’s R&DT assets, from its commercial definition to the scouting of potential customers. He has more than 15 years of experience in Business Management, having worked in the areas of Retail, Exports, Internationalization, Commercial and Marketing Direction, in several industries. In recent years, it has focused its activity in the Commercial and Marketing areas. He is frequently invited to corporate mentoring activities, to promote workshops or other hands-on activities with students, entrepreneurs and corporates’ staff.
