Madrid Space was born in 2016 as high-quality engineering consultancy company, mainly focused on the space market. Since then, we have participated in some of the most relevant European space projects, such as ExoMars, PLATO, BepiColombo or the Sentinel satellites. Our role in these missions was to provide our customers with the correct guidance to define their instruments or entire platforms, thanks to our deep background in thermal and structural engineering.
During these years of activity we have worked with some of the key players in the space sector. We realized that thermal issues are becoming more relevant for our customers, since their platforms are getting more compact and they have to dissipate more heat than before. In this demanding scenario, it is mandatory to develop new state-of-the-art solutions able to cope with these challenges.
In 2018 we started the development of a technology which uses additive manufacturing to create structures with embedded fluid channels.
Thanks to the incorporation of the fluid, the structure transports heat way more efficiently than any other material, included those based on carbon: this fits perfectly with the needs of satellite platforms, airborne equipment, jet engines, gas turbines, and any other system undergoing thermal stresses.
