As both humanity and industry rapidly expand into space, research endeavors are also advancing in lockstep to test ideas in space-like conditions, such as microgravity (weightlessness). Microgravity environments are also beneficial when conducting research on Earth, to develop new therapies or to gain novel insights into biological processes (e.g. stem cells, cancer, microbiology…). Currently, gaining access to space flights is an expensive and complex process, even for a single experiment. Simulation of the microgravity condition on Earth
is possible, but current solutions lack features used frequently for research, while configuration is cumbersome for most of the labs.
