Who are we looking for?

Entrepreneurs, researchers, PhD’s & Masters’ students, start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs and investors.

This Hackathon will be focused on DIAS Platforms and Earth Observation Data to exploit them in a commercial way.

What is DIAS?

The European Commission and the European Space Agency (ESA) decided to launch DIAS (Data Information Access Service from satellite data) in order to offer users the capability to exploit Copernicus data and information without having to manage transfer and storage on their own computer systems.

What is Copernicus?

The most ambitious Earth Observation programme to date providing accurate, timely and easily accessible information to improve the management of the environment, understand and mitigate the effects of climate change and ensure civil security.

What is Galileo?

Galileo is Europe’s Global Satellite Navigation System (GNSS), providing improved positioning and timing information with significant positive implications for many European services and users. Unlike other programmes like GPS or Glonass, it remains under civilian control.
